TARGET

A few years after Hurricane Ivan destroyed the Gulf Coast, WAS worked to improve the economy and overall appearance of Gulf Shores.
WAS’s design consisted of site design including previous parking areas, landscape design, and the vision for the central courtyard. The courtyard features tropical planting, three themed outdoor bars, stages, numerous sitting areas, a fire pit, and an interactive kids’ play area.
A year after opening the Hangout hosted the first ever Hangout Music Festival which has grown from a 15,000 person per day event to a 40,000 person per day event in 2014. WAS Design assisted in the planning and site design of the initial festival. The plans produced played a vital role in getting the city to approve such a massive event and undertaking which has proven to have tremendous economic benefits for the region.
