WAS Design served as the project Landscape Architect for this master-planned community, located in Spanish Fort, AL. WAS’s scope of work included the design and detailing of the gateway entrances, amenity, common space and associated hardscape, planting, irrigation and lighting for these areas. The entry features include stone walls with limestone caps and copper gas lanterns. A tree-lined boulevard, with lush plantings, leads to the amenity area with an open lawn and clubhouse. A plant palette, consisting of coastal native and traditional garden plantings, was used to enhance the new elements and natural beauty of the site. The clubhouse features a classic, southern-coastal architectural style with metal roof, siding, breezeway, shuttered windows, and exposed rafters. The curvilinear pool design includes a zero-edge entry with bubbler fountains for children and lap lanes for adults. The amenity also includes a workout room, playground, bocce court, fire-pit, pergolas and grilling area. Stonebridge has something for each of its residents to enjoy and celebrate community.
