WAS was engaged by the client to master plan a wetland-laden property adjacent to Gulf State Park on the Backcountry Trail. Having the island’s maritime ridge run through the southern edge of the property, topography and tree preservation were significant project opportunities. After an initial effort, additional property to the north along Canal Road was purchased to expand the project. Upon completion, the project is projected to offer 465 rental lots, with around 170 being completed in the currently under construction phase one. The almost 200 acre site has been strategically planned to offer enclaves of pad sites, with every effort given to preserve the existing natural beauty meandering throughout.
